International Festival of Theatre and Visual Arts ZDARZENIA – Tczew - Europe
Priority: 2. Contribution to the co-operation between populations, socio-cultural
integration and the labour market
Measure: 2.2. Regional cultural identity and cultural heritage
The idea of the project comes from belief that culture is motive power, which brings people closer each other, regardless of differences between nations - results of their different cultural heritage. At the cultural map of Europe, there was no forum, which allows young artists to perform their unfettered artistic visions; to look for new trends, to exchange artistic ideas, concepts and experiences and to initiate co-operation. Five previous editions of International Festival of Theatre and Visual Arts ZDARZENIA – Tczew – Europe, have proved that it is that kind of forum and it is effective tool of international co-operation.
The festival is addressed to young artists and debutantes. ZDARZENIA is the only place in that region of Europe for presenting the most novel artistic ideas that would combine efforts of students and graduated of all kinds of artistic academies. Tczew becomes a place of confrontation young creators with avant-garde trends of European art and makes an opportunity for meeting with young Europeans, who act in similar areas of art. |

Current information system in The Pomorskie Voivodeship is insufficient. It has to be corrected to become more complex. This is very important problem in our region.
We plan to set up The Voivodeship Tourist Information Centre (VTIC) which would be a leading tourist information centre in our region. The VTIC should coordinate regional tourist information. We also plan to set up twenty Poviat Tourist Information Centres (PTIC) – one in each poviat. These centres would be responsible for coordination of tourism information in poviats (districts). The VTIC would be also Gdańsk Poviat Tourist Information Centre.
The main purpose of the project is to establish the cooperation network between VTIC and all Poviat Tourist Information Centres. The cooperation with other regions from The Baltic Sea Coast area is very important. We would like to exchange information between Tourist Information Centres from The Baltic Sea Coast area and promote The Pomeranian Region on these markets as well as those markets in The Pomeranian Region.
We also plan to equip already existing Pomeranian Tourist Information Centres with:
• computers with software
• office equipment (faxes, copy machines etc.)
Besides we would like to:
• organize professional trainings for employees of Tourist Information Centres, particularly foreign languages trainings
• connect some Tourist Information Centres to the Internet
• label all Tourist Information Centres with the same signs (logos)
We plan to establish the cooperation with a partner from The Baltic Sea Region. The Office of the Marshal of the Pomorskie Voivodeship together with The Pomeranian Regional Tourist Organization have already talked and negotiated with the Office of the Marshal of the Warmińsko-Mazurskie Voivodeship. In May we have also talked with the administration of The Klaipeda Region in Lithuania during Euroregion Baltic “Seagull” workshop in Bornholm. Our local partners from the Pomorskie Voivodeship are interested to cooperate with us during execution of the project. The main partner in this project will be The Office of the Marshal of the Pomorskie Voivodeship in cooperation with The Pomeranian Regional Tourist Organization. We would like to start executing of the project in January 2006. |

Tourism infrastructure |
The project aims to create possibilities for using the area at the riverside for tourist and recreation purposes while sailing and navigation are adopted as the key activities.
Existinence of the marina enables to use the Vistula River as an active waterway route. More tour vessels, yachts, houseboats etc could appear on it. Tczew could play an important role in improving the waterway network’s infrastructure because of its location at the main transportation transregional routes. It could be active in the field of the tourism, being a base for the waterway trips to the famous monuments of Malbork, Gdansk and farther afield to Kaliningrad, Klaipeda and other interesting places within the region.
The project consists of two elements of the tourist infrastructure that are to be built: 1. the riverside marina that includes room for restaurant/bar and 2. the summer coffee bar that includes Public Conveniences. Tourist information desk will be established in the marina house.
The project enables to strengthen new forms of economy and liven entrepreneurship up. Tourism based on the waterway activities could be a way for integration of the cross-boarder communities and for the cooperation in the recreation, sporting and cultural events. |
